About
A quiet, community-first practice.
Our principles
- Community-first. We ask before we tell. Resources are shaped by what neighbors actually need.
- Evidence-based. We learn from trained emergency professionals and cite our sources.
- Calm, not fear-based. Preparedness should feel empowering, not alarming. It's a journey, not a checklist to finish in one weekend.
- Honest about limits. We're not a substitute for professional guidance, and we say so.
Hi, I'm Maia.
I'm a high school student in Washington and a Teen CERT graduate through WANIC. During Teen CERT, I realized that preparedness isn't only about responding to emergencies. It's also about helping families prepare long before they happen.
That question stayed with me:
How prepared is our community?
Prepared Together grew from that question. My goal isn't to replace expert guidance, but to learn from emergency professionals and help make preparedness more accessible within our community. This project is intentionally modest, the mission comes first.
Our commitment
Prepared Together is committed to sharing practical preparedness information based on trusted public resources, including FEMA, the American Red Cross, Community Emergency Response Team (CERT), and local emergency management agencies.
Our goal is to make preparedness approachable, practical, and accessible for everyone.
Every family prepares differently
Prepared Together recognizes that preparedness looks different depending on where people live, their budget, family size, age, and abilities. Our goal is to provide practical ideas that families can adapt to their own circumstances.
